The death is announced of Mr Robert Cairns, a brother-in-law of Mr James McMichael, Gatehouse, and joint agent of the Union Bank at Stirling.
Deceased, who was in his 79th year, was a native of Gatehouse, where he served his apprenticeship. He was afterwards at Beith and Kirriemuir, and went to Stirling about 48 years ago as accountant. He retired in 1921, having completed over 53 years with the bank.
He was predeceased by his wife 6 months ago and is survived by a family of three sons and two daughters, all the sons being bankers.
