The Kirkcudbrightshire Advertiser of 20/1/1922 carried a short obituary:

The sudden death, in the course of his usual rounds of Mr William Glendinning of Glendinning, Brothers, bakers, Mill St., Dalbeattie. About 10 o'clock he set off with his motor van on the Kirkbean journey. He called at Mrs Bryden, Mosside Cottage on the Moss Road and about 2 miles from the town. Shortly afterwards he was found lying at the side of his van, and was pronounced dead by Dr Gillespie.

Mr Glendinning, who was about 62 years of age, was unmarried. The funeral takes place on Sunday at Dalbeattie Cemetery.
