The death took place suddenly on Tuesday morning of Mr Robert Middleton, retired dyker, who was about 65 years of age. He was for a number of years employed on St Mary's Isle estate, but latterly he contracted for the erection of dykes &c. He belonged to an old Kirkcudbright family. He is survived my Mrs Middleton and a grown up family. The funeral takes place today at St Cuthbert's Churchyard.
